Spotify Gashes Service Prices For College Students
If you are anything like me, streaming music has become a part of your daily life. If you are also like me, streaming music from a mobile app that hammers your phone screen with pop up ads drives you insane. For college students, this is about to change.
As of March 24, 2014, Spotify has announced that it is cutting the price of its premium service in half, from $10 to $5 a month, for college students in the U.S. The offer is available to almost any student in four-year, two-year or junior college, and is good until you graduate. One thing of note, however, is Spotify says that at the close of your 12-month student period, you’ll automatically be enrolled in the full-price, $10-a-month plan “unless you activate another Student Discount Offer.” What does this mean for you? If you sign up for this plan, you will eventually have to re-validate your student status every 12 months, otherwise you'll be switched to the full price plan.
So the big question here is: "What do I gain?":
- No more ads!
- Any song you want, any time you want
- Take your playlist offline and listen without eating up your data plan
- Premium sounds quality in every song
